The Future of Family Planning is Intersectional, Intergenerational, and Youth-Led!
Let Them Know - GRA carried its message forward at the Future of Family Planning Convening held in Washington, D.C. on March 12–13, 2025. As we build momentum towards ICFP 2025, this convening served as a critical moment for GRA to join youth leaders, feminist advocates, policymakers, and global partners to tackle the shifts happening across family planning and SRHR funding and access.
At this high-level event, GRA proudly shared the experiences of youth advocates directly with decision-makers, emphasizing how family planning is foundational to achieving the SDGs and the overall wellbeing of communities around the world. The convening underscored an undeniable truth: Our rights, our bodies, and our futures are not up for negotiation.
In the face of funding reductions and rising backlash against SRHR, GRA and its partners called for bold, unapologetic solidarity. We reaffirmed that family planning and SRHR are core to gender justice, economic equity, and global health. From local organizing to global convenings, we must foster locally made solutions, advocate for decentralized funding, and invest in mutual capacity building that strengthens youth-led movements.
GRA’s participation highlighted several key messages:
Collective action is power—when youth, policymakers, and partners unite, change becomes inevitable.
Intergenerational collaboration is essential—investing in youth is investing in resilience and innovation.
Feminist futures require commitment—equity-driven policies are the most practical path to lasting transformation.
As we move toward ICFP 2025 in Bogotá, we must transform bold conversations into meaningful, lasting action. Through youth-led engagement, global solidarity, and strategic advocacy, GRA continues to strengthen the #LetThemKnow movement and ensure that youth voices shape the future of SRHR globally.
